The Mizzou Sports Arena, home to Missouri men’s and women’s basketball, needed a transformation to enhance both safety and the fan experience. Updating the seating in the lower bowl and mezzanine concourse, alongside a full code analysis, was essential to ensure that every game felt comfortable, accessible, and engaging for the crowd.
Based on the code analysis, IAA recommended adding wheelchair-designated seating along the east mezzanine concourse to improve the distribution of accessible seating. A total of 5,636 seats were removed and replaced with new seating options, ranging from durable plastic folding to cushioned seats with backs, and retractable seating at the court level. These updates modernized the arena while accommodating a variety of users and enhancing the game-day experience for all spectators.
