The Argentine Community Center provides a venue for residents to engage through civic camaraderie. Like many public facilities, it included underutilized and neglected spaces. We recognized an opportunity here.
By transforming one of those areas into a new fitness center encouraging healthy and active lifestyle habits, we could positively affect the community. Of even greater significance is the fact that this under-served neighborhood would not normally be able to attract a new gym tenant, but through this public + private partnership, the local government is providing a stipend allowing the gym incentives and residents discounted fees. Thoughtful execution was critical for this renovation, as it was modest in scale and limited in time and budget. We strategically used existing infrastructure and infused the space with energy and character through thoughtfully placed and coordinated color schemes, graphics, and branding – all working to create moments of impact and a dynamic user experience.
