IAA was commissioned to design the renovation of the Swinney Rec Center team and public locker rooms at UMKC. The updates would bring the facilities up to par with those of conference rivals.
The team locker room renovation involved removing all wall partitions and a reconfiguration of the existing space. Upgraded finishes like wood lockers, computer stations and luxurious furnishings add high-end appeal for serious student athletes. Affected team locker rooms included volleyball and both men's and women's basketball, in addition to visitor and officials' facilities. The renovation of the public rooms included the removal of all existing partitions and finishes and the installation of new ones. New shower facilities were installed along with steam and sauna rooms. All rooms provide convenient access to the swimming pool.
