KSU sought to modernize and make more accessible Chapman Theatre. A complete interior renovation and ADA upgrades were required in order to achieve the desired level of accessibility and contemporary aesthetics for the University's storied performing arts venue.
Our architectural and engineering team's contributions included the design and installation of new finishes such as upholstered seating, carpeting, and refinished woodwork; as well as technical elements including theatrical lighting and new acoustical systems. A renovation of the green room was also designed. Our team enjoyed collaborating with stakeholders and students on this project as we worked closely with affected groups to explore and select materials, and even held a voting contest for students to test and select their favorite finishes and seating options.
