We’re excited about our newly designed The Merc Co+op downtown grocery store in Kansas City, Kansas that serves to enhance the surrounding neighborhoods and support the thousands of employees working in the downtown area. Moreover it provides food options to an area that was considered a previous food desert.

As part of the Green Infrastructure the site has three stormwater cisterns to capture and recycle rain waiter, permeable pavers to help conserve stormwater runoff, and utilizes a community garden planting area.

Thanks to the vision and funding by the UG Government, this catalyst block on the Kansas City, Kansas Downtown Masterplan is one of the lead projects towards a vibrant downtown.
