Shadowing Success!

Last Friday, our office hosted two local high school students for a ‘Day of Shadowing.’ IAA staffers were able to chat with Brooke and Weston, and explain what a career in design is like. We discussed anything from current high school curriculum to college paths, first jobs, and the countless ways in which technology and software programs are shaping how design is perceived and executed. IAA architects had the opportunity to explain and demonstrate our team’s creative process by introducing the students to a few current projects before watching them complete their own designs through a hands-on activity.

This year marked the 12th annual ‘Day of Shadowing’ organized by Women in Design (WiD). Based on their interests, WiD matches students with host firms, where they are able to learn about a number of creative careers and gain valuable insight into real-world circumstances and practices. IAA is grateful to WiD for allowing our team the opportunity to meet and engage with such talented students throughout the metro.
