In celebration of National Workers Memorial Day we unveiled Rays of Remembrance at Water Works Park. Kansas City was built into one of the nation’s greatest American cities by working men and women. The Kansas City Workers Memorial at Water Works Park is to honor those construction workers of this city who sadly lost their lives to construction accidents or the pandemic.
The sculpture, designed and fabricated by RE:site and Metalab, features 18 steel I-beams that symbolize 18 construction trades. The site design includes a circular plaza surrounded by a semicircular array of trees with seating that provides a place of quiet reflection as the KC skyline rests in the background.
